Dear friends,
after a long period of waiting & hoping the groundwork on the monastery land in Engreux will finally start—all the work and efforts made by many people are now paying off!
We would like to thank everyone involved for making this happen.
Here are just a few examples of how people are supporting us so far:
- An arborist has volunteered to come this week in order to cut the tree on the monastery grounds that needed to be felled.
- A person has been so kind to check and improve all the French texts on the Samita and Tilorien websites, which is especially helpful as none of the active members of Samita ASBL is a French native speaker.
- Since our start there are people who donate fixed amounts (big and small) to our bank account on a monthly basis.
- And there are many more regular and spontaneous acts of support we cannot all list here…
Sadhu, sadhu, sadhu to all these people!
We are aware that this project is supported by a small group of individuals with limited resources. A continuous effort in supporting building and running the monastery is appreciated and needed, now and in the future. These gifts of generosity can be in all kinds, from financially by donating money, physically by doing work in the field, and mentally by giving metta and positive energy. Everything is most appreciated!
The next occasion to help out with a work dana will be a “busy bee” weekend on November 24 – 26 in order to plant a hedge of 50 meter length along our neighbour’s plot and 8 trees on the property of Tilorien. We can host 2 – 3 people in Honvelez (place where the provisional monastery is), and if there are more helpers coming we will help them find a cheap accommodation.
If we are able to get the necessary legal requirements done we could also start to build the foundations and platforms for the kutis in the near future.
Anyone who’d like to join us for the “busy bee” weekend in November or offer any other kind of help, please email us.
If you would like to make a financial contribution, please use the bank details or the PayPal (“Donate”) button in the right sidebar.
Please keep reminding people about the valuable project, share all the information available so we can accommodate the nuns in a comfortable house next spring!
